City of McDonough’s Ribbon Cutting For New McDonough Mini Soccer Pitch

Name’s Blue Media was honored to cover the Ribbon Cutting for the new Mini Soccer Pitch at Alexander Park—a milestone moment celebrating collaboration, youth engagement, and community wellness.

The day began with a warm welcome from host Joe Freihofer, followed by the official Ribbon Cutting–Kicking Ceremony led by key partners and leaders, including representatives from Atlanta United, the Southern Crescent Soccer Foundation, the City of McDonough, and the Honorable Judge Wade Crumbley.

After the ribbon was cut, children took the field for a Youth Soccer Clinic & Tournament, bringing the new pitch to life with energy and excitement. Fans also had the chance to meet Atlanta United players for photos and autographs—making the day unforgettable for families and soccer lovers alike.

From The City of McDonough: "On behalf of the City of McDonough, we extend our heartfelt gratitude to everyone who played a part in bringing this incredible project to life. The new mini soccer pitch at Alexander Park is a testament to the power of community, collaboration, and a shared vision."

We are proud to showcase the City’s investment in recreational spaces that inspire the next generation.
